Description
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is hiring a Corrections Unit Supervisor to supervise divisional staff, establish and implement standards for staff performance, and provide quality assurance and training within the Juvenile Probation division. This position will provide oversight for Juvenile Probation Court, Administrative Probation, and Restitution Investigation units.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be located at 525 Portland Avenue, Suite 260, Minneapolis, MN 55415, in the community within Hennepin County, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position, you will:
- Provide direct supervision to approximately five Probation Officers and four Legal Services Specialists, including hiring, evaluating, and performance management.
- Provide ongoing management of court coverage needs, restitution investigations, and administrative probation services for Juvenile Probation.
- Support Evidence Based Practices (EBP) efforts and effectively communicate and implement changes to the unit.
- Serve as a resource across the department and promote relationships with stakeholders, the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR), and other criminal justice partners.
- Facilitate staff meetings, projects, committees, case consultations, and unit specific trainings.
- Interface with the Bench, Public Defender's Office, and County Attorney's Office to provide effective and efficient coverage of court calendars.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Seven years or more of full-time equivalent work experience as a probation/parole officer, correctional officer/juvenile correctional officer, sentencing to service crew leader, social worker, or a supervisor in a correctional or residential treatment setting.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, behavioral/social science, social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, law enforcement, education, business, correctional or public administration or an equivalent field and three years or more of full-time equivalent work experience listed above.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a non-related field and four years or more of full-time equivalent work experience listed above.
- Master's degree or higher in one of the above fields and two years or more of full-time equivalent work experience listed above.
- Note: Completion of an Evidence-Based Practice Corrections Professional Certificate from an approved school may be substituted for one year of relevant coursework or one year of relevant experience.
- Note: Additional position related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.

- Identifying and collaborating with community resources.
- Developing disparity reduction programs within a corrections environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook or similar email system, Minnesota Government Access (MGA), Juvenile Interstate Data System (JIDS), and Court Services Tracking System (CSTS) or similar information system.
- Experience or education around addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, differing ability equity.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures that govern the work done by Hennepin County Adult Services divisions.
- Ability to:
